Gaja
Angelo Gaja is internationally acknowledged as one of the world's greatest winemakers. In 1859, he founded the Gaja Winery, producing the first wine from Piedmont, which uses the native Nebbiolo grape, and planting the region's first Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. Angelo Gaja is known for producing elegant and opulent wines that are true to their origins. He is a pioneer in the production of single-vineyard wines in Piedmont. The quality of his wines has been described by Wine Spectator, a leading consumer wine publication, as "perhaps the finest Italian wines ever made."
